Lara was the avatar who took us by surprise - in all sorts of ways. She was almost an afterthought addition to the pack who we were asked to take when getting Arianna's reincarnation; but in coming to us, she refused to be anything of the sort.
From the earliest age, Lara's 'foxy' looks elicited an annoying number of comments from people insisting that she was a coyote cross-breed.
This is nonsense. She is pure Siberian Husky.
As with all of our Huskies, Lara has a very strong food orientation. This means that nothing is safe; and she has a thing for raiding trash cans.
On numerous occasions we have found appalling mess in the garage where she has wrecked bin bags that have been stored to keep them away from bears before they are taken to the dump.
As she has grown, some of the 'foxiness' has gone and she has matured into a very pretty dog.
She has a sense of knowing about her.This is her usual look which is best described as benign tolerance.
Oddly enough, she's quite the lap dog and likes to cuddle up on the sofa given half the chance.
She loves to come out in the car, even if it means sitting for hours in the parking lot doing nothing.
Her usual companion on these occasions is Indy.
She's a surprisingly gregarious animal and even gets on with the most choosy of canines...
